What is Post Rehab personal training?
Post-Rehab personal training is geared for the client who has been recently discharged from Physical Therapy or Chiropractic Care/services who want to bridge the gap to get back to their ultimate goals, adventures, and lifestyles but afraid that they are not ready to jump back into traditional training. Very few personal trainers have the skill set, education, training, patience, and desire to help meet clients over the age of 60 where they need to be met and doing so SAFELY especially if we are dealing with various ortho and neuro issues (again, assuming you have been through physical therapy).
This is where I come in with over 24 years of experience on both sides of the fitness and physical therapy isle! I do need to mention that this is NOT A PHYSICAL THERAPY service! If you have been told by your provider that you need Physical Therapy, then you must go and exhaust that medical need and be discharged before I can work with you. Also, if I work with you and feel what you need is beyond my scope of practice, I will not hesitate to stop working with you and refer you on to the more appropriate provider including physical therapy.
I have experience working in the post rehab personal training environment with the following conditions:
Orthopedic concerns:
-Any kind of joint sprains or bone fractures
-Muscle strains
-Post surgical including joint replacements ( I had my hip replacement two years ago!)
Neurological conditions:
-Parkinson’s disease
-CVA/Stroke
Please note, this is NOT a physical therapy service! This is personal training for someone who has been discharged and wants to bridge the gap to full function. With that said, there are times it is possible to work in tandem with your Physical Therapist and work on deficits that are not addressed.
