Older Adult Fitness Training
My service specializes in working with those aged 60+ with or without health conditions! While many people in this age category are dealing with pre-existing conditions, have poor balance and strength, and perhaps even wheelchair/bed bound. One thing is sure is that every case is different. I've worked with clients who are healthy and fit, and who want to go skiing again in their mid 70's, to frail clients who are also on hospice who find exercise helps them feel better in the very last stage of their life.
During your free initial consultation, we go over any medical history you want to share and discuss what your goals and passions are. I may ask for a physician release to be filled out. If we decide to work with each other, I do a detailed and individual fitness assessment that looks at basics like mobility, flexibility, strength, balance, and coordination. I don't agree that we should treat seniors with kid gloves (unless it's warranted) and it is ok to push the envelope a bit to improve your strength and power to enhance your resilience. As these improve, you will notice that you confidence and your motivation improves in parallel!
